Aubrey Plaza is an actress and comedian born June 26, 1984. She plays April Ludgate, a character on Parks and Recreation. In The Jeannie Tate Show she was the first to debut on a web-based show after doing comedy sketches and improv shows at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater Plaza. Aubrey Christina Plaza was born in Wilmington Delaware the daughter of attorney Bernadette Plaza and financial specialist David Plaza. The daughter is of Puerto Rican parents and an English-born mother from Ireland. Plaza earned a degree at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a Catholic all-girls secondary school, in the year 2006, after graduation in 2002. She served as president of the student government at the high school, and was a part of Wilmington Drama League productions during her time as a senior. Plaza suffered a stroke in 2004 while studying at a the college. The stroke caused her to develop expressive aphasia and suffered briefly paralysis. The recovery process is now complete. Plaza has performed improv comedy, and sketches at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater since 2004. The New York location has seen Plaza done stand-up comedy at The Improv as well as the Laugh Factory. Plaza has appeared on E.S.P.N.'s Mayne Street & The Jeannie Tate Show as the character of Robin Gibney and was also featured as Ben Schwartz, as well as appearing as Robin Gibney for the premiere episode of Terrible Decisions. On CollegeHumor's Troopers she performed the role of Princess in the satirical Sci-Fi character. Plaza made her saxophone debut in Cassorla's Bona Fide in 2014.
